Şirinyer to Buca

The branch to Buca was opened by the ORC in 1860 to serve the important suburb of Buca. Şirinyer station was a simple station with a passing loop, the junction was located after the station. The short branch was served by several services per days, the main traffic being suburb passengers.
This branch was closed in 2008 when the Şirinyer station was rebuilt as an underground station as part of the modernization of Izmir suburb lines.
However, the plateform should be used to built a new light metro line, extended west ward to give connection in Üçyol to the first light metro line.
