Gazi (Ciftlik)

This little station, on the suburban line near Ankara main station, owes its fate to Atatürk's model farms, which were located just nearby. Indeed, on many occasions and especially towards the end of his life, Atatürk choose to stop there rather than the main station.

The station building was newly restored in 2000 to its original condition, displaying bright blue ceramics. It has become an interesting spot. It is now used as a restaurant and the visitors are able to visit all the rooms.

The capacity of this restaurant has been enhanced by two TCDD dining cars, placed on the lawn in front of the station. These cars have been heavily transformed and one of them is used as a kitchen while the other is a dining room. The cars have lost the original interior design.
