3311 to 3325
- Axle: C't
- Total quantity: 15
- Years: 1928-29
- Manufacturer: Nohab. Works Numbers 1813-22, 1833-37
This loco is the only modern switcher / light duty in the TCDD steam engine fleet. It also the only small tank loco ordered by TCDD, all the other having been purchased by the former private companies and then transferred to TCDD during the nationalization process. This loco was ordered as part of the Nohab contract that supplied the well known G82 or some of the G10.
The design of the loco is clearly inspired from DRG BR80 type. The outline of the loco is very similar, the boilers have the same characteristics. The Turkish loco has a slightly bigger cab and a different design of the coal bunker as a consequence.
However, the 3311 is much lighter, with 16T per axle as opposed to 18T for the BR80. The 3311 has taller wheel, 1250mm instead of 1100 allowing a greater speed at the cost of a reduced tractive effort.
