T56201 "Black Wolf" from Eskişehir workshop, T56202 "Grey Wolf" from Sivas workshop,
These units are actually the third continuation of the 56001. They are of the same design as the latest batch built by the Czech. They were fully built and assembled in Turkey thus demonstrating that Turkey had acquired the capability to manufacture large and modern steam engines. They are the last two steam engines to be delivered to TCDD and perhaps the last two manufactured in Europe.
In 1961, steam was already an obsolete technology: GE U18 diesel had started to arrive on TCDD's rail.
