Izmir Hilal
Hilal is the famous point crossing between Basmane and Alsancak tracks with a triangle to allow direct running from Basmane to Alsancak (see diagram below).
The electrification works in 2002 implied a new distribution of traffic between Basmane and Alsancak where Basmane takes over most of the trains. Track plan in Hilal was modified accordingly. The direct cord between Basmane and Alsancak has been removed and the Hilal is no longer a triangle. Hilal station is closed and fenced
